Contributes to multiple leading edge development projects that require a high degree of technical competence and innovation within a Global Organisation. Performs detailed design and development tasks and on smaller technology projects could complete some planning and scheduling.

Our client are a global manufacturing business and are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer for their busy, fast paced site based in Cheltenham


The main responsibilities for the Senior Project Engineer will be:

Generate a continuous stream of ideas leading to IP protectable product solutionsDetermines the technical feasibility of product concepts. Prepares detailed project plans including technical objectives and approaches, schedule plans, project cost estimates, and product cost analyses. Utilizes Robust Engineering including DFSS, DFMEA and DFA.Performs engineering design, analysis & testing for a wide range of mechanical and electro-mechanical products and subassemblies.Hands on engineering involvement in design and validation plans. Uses analysis tools such as FEA and CFD to optimize designs. Develops technologies that can be applied across multiple product platforms.Develops new viable product concepts for proposed applications.Designs to global industry and government standards.Keeps abreast of new technologies and products relative to consumer products and industries.Directs and coordinates all work by engineers, support personnel, and outside groups involving design, development, drafting, prototype construction, and test and evaluation of product concepts. Works closely with project groups to assure smooth transition to production.


The successful Senior Project Engineer will have:

Preferably qualified to Higher national or Degree in Engineering with ideally four years of steadily increasing experience.Expertise in mechanical design. Experience of detailed tolerance control and analysis, knowledge of statistical quality tools, materials (plastics preferably), fluid dynamics and concurrent development practices. Specific knowledge in Pro Engineer, CFD, FEA, and electro-mechanical are desirable for this position.Past results include successful technical project deliveries on major projects or smaller work packages. Demonstrable results of innovative designs that have been commercialized preferably with Patent protection.

Job Offer

£40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience + bonus and other benefits
