Lusona Financial Services is looking for someone to join an IFA (Independent Financial Adviser) practice in Glasgow to work alongside one of their financial advisors as a trainee financial planner. The business has reached the point where additional assistance is required to managed the current workload, and they are also keeping an eye on succession planning for a chartered financial advisor who will retire in the coming years. This position will allow you work towards becoming a fully-fledged IFA, working from the ground up. Your traineeship will start you off familiarising yourself with the business’ back office operation where you will learn how the sales support and paraplanners work, before getting you involved in paraplanning and ultimately getting you into a client facing role. Depending on experience, and assuming you already have experience in sales support or paraplanning, you may be able to spend less time in the back office before starting to shadow the financial consultants. It is essential for this role that you are nearing completion of the Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS), Diploma in Financial Advice (DipFA), CISI Diploma or any other Level 4 Equivalent. Applications will be considered from those working as a sales support consultant, paraplanner, broker sales consultant, or similar position within a regulated practice. A starting salary of £25,000 to £35,000 will be offered and in the years ahead you should expect to earn well beyond this through increased basic and bonus. To manage expectations, it may not be possible to earn beyond this in your first year unless you develop quickly and become client facing in less than 12 months. Typical starting salaries for qualified financial advice roles will be around £35,000 to £45,000 with an average adviser earning £60,000 per annum.
