About you
You will be an experienced technical IT practitioner, with at least 2 years' experience, preferably in consultancy or testing. You will have proven experience of working in a team as well as the ability to work independently. You will be highly numerate and able to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences with confidence. Excellent written and spoken English abilities are required. Although initially based at our London office you may also be required to work at customer sites at various locations around the UK and possibly abroad.

About the role
A Consultant will be quickly utilised on customer engagements, most often as part of a team. Examples of engagements include:

- Testing of e-commerce systems that support 20,000 concurrent users
- Modelling of IT systems that process 1,000 requests per second
- Cost optimisation modelling to reduce annual spend by $26 million
- Automated analytics of IT server estates of over 40,000 servers

On a day to day basis you will be expected to:

- Assist on customer facing projects, including direct interaction with customers
- Contribute to the on time and on budget delivery of our services
- Scripting, execution and analysis of performance tests
- Development and maintenance of capacity models
- Proactive system monitoring to identify performance risks
- Identify opportunities for innovation across our services, to improve efficiency or quality
- Mentor, assist and train junior staff
- Assist with our growth programme

The following skills and qualifications would be required:

- 2:1 (or above) Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering;
- Experience using Microsoft Office packages;
- Understanding of Windows /Unix operating systems

The following skills would be advantageous:

- Development and scripting experience
- Performance testing experience inc. scripting, execution and analysis;
- Capacity planning and modelling skills;
- Data analysis preferably using Microsoft Excel;
- ITIL accreditation
