Since 1961, our research has transformed the way we prevent, diagnose and treat heart disease. And we've saved countless lives along the way. That's what keeps us going.
About the role
The British Heart Foundation's (BHF) core online site is a vital service serving over 1 million customers a month with distinct customer needs from outpatients to carers to health professionals, fundraisers, shoppers and many more.
We are looking for an extremely talented and ambitious UX/UI Designer to join our high performance Digital Service team. You'll be a bold and creative individual with a thirst for optimising user research and an eye for designing world class customer experiences online.
Joining our existing UX Designer and highly motivated digital delivery and creative teams, you'll be involved in all areas of UX design end-to-end from user research and low-fi sketches, visual concepting, wireframing through to fully interactive, responsive production prototypes ready for development and user testing.
This role will help lead a major design refresh across high-demand platforms, collaborating with front-end and back-end developers to implement a bold, fearless creative vision online. The role will help articulate a fresh look and feel for dynamic, digital products and marketing experiences which together process £38million (and growing) transactions a year - vital to the BHF's work of leading heart health research.
The successful candidate will have a degree or post-graduate qualification in Interaction Design, HCI, Product Design or equivalent training and industry experience. You will also have an outstanding portfolio demonstrating first class UX and UI work.
With a solid knowledge of responsive web design, cross-browser compatibility and creating world class customer experiences online you'll have excellent organisational skills, able to keep on top of multiple projects running at once.
You'll have strong communication skills, able to build relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation to share your expertise, leading and facilitating design workshops and customer journey and user research sessions.
With a first class creative and digital mind you'll have a strong and balanced digital creative and technical design skill set with a passion for developing world class user experiences and products.
At BHF we actively support our people in their career development and achieving their potential. You'll benefit from comprehensive technical training and certification, as well as our extensive learning and personal development opportunities.
