Are you passionate about the power of stories to change the world? Do you have exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail? Can you collaborate effectively across teams, countries and different cultures? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

As ActionAid's Stories and Information Officer you will be part of a team of communication specialists who excel at gathering and packaging award-winning, stories, photos, audio and video for use across major fundraising and awareness raising campaigns, including during humanitarian disasters. As a member of the ActionAid family, you will stand with the world's most marginalised women and girls in the fight to end poverty and injustice.

With your superb communication and administrative skills you will assist the Head of Team in scheduling and tracking content gathering across the organisation. Based in London, you will help to organise content gathering trips with teams in our partner countries across Asia, Africa and Latin America. And you’ll keep our databases updated so that information can be shared effectively across the organisation. Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Google Docs and Office 365 is a must.

A strong writer, with an excellent eye for detail, you will be able to turn complex information into sparkling, snappy and accurate copy. A talented researcher, you will be able to spot and develop good stories, as well as meet tight deadlines. From transcribing interviews, captioning photos, to reformatting stories, you’ll help ensure ActionAid’s standards are met, from quality control to safe guarding and you’ll assist in the training of others to do the same.

This exciting role is ideally suited to someone who takes great pride in ensuring vital systems and processes are kept up and running, but who can also connect and communicate with a wide range of people, across multiple teams, countries and territories. We are looking for candidates who are willing to build up their skills so that they can become experienced content gatherers. A good understanding of international development and journalism is preferable.

Interviews will take place during the week beginning December 11th.
