Your new company
Your new organisation has multiple SEN settings throughout Devon. This particular school is an alternative provision for students who are not able or suited to attend mainstream settings. Your new company specialises in helping SEN students, who have been issued EHCP, to access education and work towards personalised achievable goals.
Your new role
Provide support, mainly on a 1:1 basis, to students who have SEN. Their needs will vary and may include students that have; autism, behavioural difficulties or sever learning disabilities. You will support the students both with their lessons but also emotionally, helping them recognise concepts like actions, consequences and even social stories.
What you'll need to succeed
A pro-active yet understanding approach with solid knowledge across the curriculum. You will need prior experience working within a school setting, preferably with students who have SEN. Being able to build relationships quickly is absolutely vital. To be able to showcase solid knowledge about different types of SEN and how to support effectively.
