Reporting to the General Manager - Procurement, the Procurement Manager will support Jet2.com's Back of House Operations, with particular responsibility for managing all aviation fuel related expenditure; as well as leading the management of suppliers to assure fuel supply and quality to all our locations is maintained without interruption to support our On Time Performance to Customers.
In this exciting new position, you will coordinate and lead the creation and execution of procurement strategy across specified category areas but especially within the aviation fuel category. Maintaining excellent market knowledge and applying this to an understanding of Procurement's customer requirements and to the rolling aviation fuel strategy for the business is vital to the success of this role. You will act as a role model for non-procurement colleagues, to support delivery of an end to end procurement service, focusing on lowering costs whilst improving, where necessary, quality and service. Working in collaboration with colleagues across Jet2.com to shape category strategy and lead tender and negotiation processes, you will be a recognised professional; able to evidence high levels of achievement in a variety of category fields. Experience of fuel (or other commodity related) procurement and management is highly desirable.
In addition, you will use insights based on real, up to date market knowledge to help identify and shape requirements up front and ensure that the best suppliers are engaged. Gaining knowledge from all supplier interactions, from initial engagements and commitments made during the contracting process, through contract management, and relationship management, you will get best value for money for Jet2.com.
The Procurement Team reports directly to the Jet2.com and Jet2holidays CEO, reflecting the importance of procurement in supporting future business growth.
To be successful in this position you will hold a broad and deep knowledge of procurement, have a high degree of market awareness, with demonstrable experience of innovative approaches to procuring services and of managing relationships with suppliers. With a proven capability to apply the latter to aviation fuel related procurement and management, you will be a highly effective negotiator, comfortable with handling and understanding detail; numbers and contracts. You will be an excellent communicator with the gravitas to build credible peer relationships with decision makers up to Director level. You will act as an intelligent customer in dealings with suppliers and have a sufficient technical understanding to engage in meaningful, challenging conversations with both colleagues and suppliers. You will be solution oriented always seeking opportunities and finding new ways of overcoming problems. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent. Holding a MCIPS qualification would be highly desirable.
