2nd Line Support
We have a fantastic opportunity for 5 people to join our growing 1st/2nd line support team.
You will be working in the Intercity Secure Operations Centre, based in Horwich, providing 1st and 2nd line support to some of our largest managed service customers.
You?ll ensure the continuous, smooth running of Intercity?s network service; remotely supporting and identifying issues affecting customer systems and services.
You won?t just be a techy; you will provide quality customer service and be able to forge long term, meaningful relationships. A big portion of your work will be within the public sector ? so discretion and sensitivity when dealing with data is also key to this role.
Our customers require 24/7 support, so you will be someone who is flexible and not afraid to work as part of our 24 x 7 x 365 shift rota. This means you will work rotating shifts, which will cover day, early, afternoon, night and weekend shifts; your shift may even fall on a bank holiday. There are perks to working as part of the rota; a generous shift allowance and 4 days off following a night shift!
You will also be:
- familiar with the primary functions of networking equipment, i.e. routers, switches, firewalls and wide area communications.
- aware of some of the following vendor products; Check Point, Juniper, Cisco, Extreme, Aruba, Polycom - a vendor qualification would put you head and shoulders above the competition.
- working in a similar role, or want to make that step up from 1st line to 2nd line support.
- required to undergo a DBS check, and some customers require a security clearance ? so unspent, undeclared convictions are a no go.
The salary is competitive, with an added shift allowance in lieu of working some unsociable hours and bank holidays as per the shift rota. You?ll also get a pension, death in service and a host of other benefits.
