Role: Shop Manager

Hours of work:40 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Shop Manager to join a rapidly growing, young brand, achieving national presence. You will bring creativity and a passion to make a difference to The Air Ambulance Service saving lives in the UK.

Responsible for driving sales and improving profit through effective management, motivating your team including volunteers on a daily basis. Exceeding customer expectations by providing the best service and standards, you will have a certain amount of autonomy, where you can express your creative and entrepreneurial flair to exceed sales targets.


Responsible for the profitable operation of the shop.


Income Generation

  • Achieve/Exceed sales targets and increase profits from donated goods, merchandise, online trading – eBay, Kite books, gift aid, and fundraising opportunities
  • Generate increase donations through campaigns including social media
  • Merchandise and rota stock to optimise maximum sales encouraging upselling
  • Manage stock levels daily/weekly/monthly
  • Back of house is organised and maintained to a high standard to support sales revenue
  • Business Development

  • Promote brand awareness by actively engaging with the local community. Drawing on your skills to influence local businesses and stakeholders to support the shop in line with business needs.
  • Become The Air Ambulance Service local Ambassador
  • Resource Management

  • Responsible for planning daily/monthly rotas to ensure shop adequately staffed
  • Pro-actively engaging in dealing with poor performance
  • Budget Management

  • Responsible for the profit and loss whilst controlling expenditure
  • Banking paperwork is completed accurately and timely submission to finance to assess weekly/monthly sales against targets
  • Customer Service

  • Create an enticing shopping experience for customers through excellent customer service
  • To ensure the back of house areas are organised and maintained to a high standard that supports the needs of the sales floor.
  • Ensure environment is risk free and compliant with H&S
  • Customer Relationships

  • Work closely with Area Manager on campaigns
  • Develop excellent volunteer relationships
  • Liaise with retail HQ personnel regarding stock
  • Build a strong working relationship with Fundraising co-ordinators to support local campaigns
  • Staff Development

  • Ambitious to succeed, grow and develop yourself and your team
  • Responsible for mentoring the team through monthly performance reviews
  • Lead by example on excellent customer service
  • Actively ensure everyone engages with health and safety procedures
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures in stock management, people management, shop administration and security
  • Work closely with Area Manager on any people management
  • Undertake any other task reasonably required for an acceptable performance of the role.
