Mixed Tax Assistant - Birmingham City Centre - Up to £25,000

Your new company
This boutique tax consultancy company is seeking a mixed tax assistant to compliment their team based in Birmingham. The company have ambitious plans to grow the headcount by 50% within the next 6 months, and are seeking an individual with at least 12 months experience within a practice environment, ideally within a tax role. The client base is varied containing wealthy families, international expats, sports stars, entrepreneurs, and partners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for broad exposure to varied compliance and advisory work from the outset.

Your new role
The responsibilities of the role include completing tax compliance services covering Corporate Tax, Personal Tax, Trust Tax, and VAT.
You will also be expected to provide assistance with advisory project work and supporting the senior team with producing technical documentation for clients. An example of the project work would be undertaking research on share schemes and producing extracts for inclusion within technical client-facing reports, therefore a basic understanding of the wider tax system would be preferable.

What you'll need to succeed
You must be a self-starter who is able to use their drive and technical awareness to assist with the delivery of first class client service. Furthermore you must be presentable and professionally dressed, and comfortable working with a Big 4 style mentality and review procedures.
Ideally you will have at least 12 months within a practice environment and already had exposure to a wide variety of taxes. A part ATT studier or someone seeking to switch from a trainee accountant role into pure tax would be considered.

What you'll get in return
- Salary up to £25,000
- 20 days annual leave plus statutory holidays
- 3% employer matched pension contributions
- Professional study support and subscriptions
- Diverse client portfolio with opportunities for exposure to both tax compliance and advisory work from an early stage
- Strong local public transport links
