An exciting opportunity to work as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in an Ofsted rated Good school in Wigan.

Your new school
Your new school is a 'Good' and improving school that has been commended for having a supportive Senior Leadership Team. Pupils are well behaved and the school has worked hard to create a positive learning environment in which all pupils can make progress. The school's reputation in the area is growing and is going from strength to strength.

Your new role
Your new role as a HLTA will be on a part time basis, initially for two weeks with a good chance of the role being extended beyond this time. As a HLTA you will take on a variety of roles, including teaching full classes and also smaller intervention classes. These smaller groups will focus on raising the attainment of pupils who are not making expected progress, specifically in Maths and English or pupils who are exceeding targets and are ready for another challenge. Classes will range from Early Years up to KS2 and as a result you should be confident working with a wide range of age groups.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you must be a qualified HLTA or a qualified teacher looking for challenge. You must have strong literacy skills in order to maintain pupils progression in the absence of their regular HLTA. An excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum is important for all pupils to make progress regardless of their ability. It is hoped the successful candidate has strong behaviour management skills and can implement many strategies to maintain pupils interest and engagement in lessons.

What you'll get in return
In return you will become a part of a supportive team who will make you feel welcome from when you join. You will also have a chance to develop your skills both delivering lessons to a full class and small groups, skills you can transfer to your next role. Whilst working for Hays you will have access to free CPD and the support of a dedicated consultant who will support you throughout this assignment and beyond.
