• To manage the development, implementation and review of a retail business strategy that maximises the retail net profit by driving sales and controlling costs.


• Replica and Training Wear design and planning with Technical Partner
• Technical Partner Replica and Training Wear launch
• Working with Technical Partner on GOK planning and product selection
• Design, review and update Club ecommerce store layout
• Day to day management of retail space and ecommerce store
• Manage EPOS and Stock management systems
• Design and manufacture 2nd tier clothing and accessory ranges
• Range plan all merchandise into a buying and delivery calendar on a seasonal basis based upon product lead-times
• Create analyse, and manage all stock and sales (in-store and ecommerce) reports
• Brief media and marketing teams on all seasonal promotions
• Work closely with the Marketing Director to ensure all promotions are implemented correctly
• Implement and oversee controls and reports on- Shrinkage/waste- Wages- Stock write-off- Financial control- Retail expenditure
• Oversee the recruitment, induction and training program for all new starters
• Conduct appraisals and performance reviews to ensure consistent staff performance and future development
• Overall responsibility for stock control
• Ensure a high standard of customer service is delivered
• Ensure all elements are in place to achieve set sales targets
• Oversee customer feedback function including customer complaints and comments



• Candidates must have a love of sport and an understanding of Rugby and its environment.
• Previous experience in a leadership role at a high performance sports club and/or rights holder would be advantageous


• Graduate, with strong academic track record
• Experience in a retail / merchandising role, with a track record of delivering strong financial performance
• Experience of working with professional teams / athletes and managing the ordering and distribution of kit
• Experience in working to and achieving targets, especially around sales
• Experience of working with a variety of sophisticated suppliers and wholesalers
• Evidence of sound commercial judgement and decision making capability
• Proven success at delivering against strategic objectives
• Evidence of the ability to successfully lead and manage teams

• Personal circumstances must allow the candidate to work extended hours on occasion during times of peak activity including evenings and weekends, including match days
