What is the role?

Based at the Hawke Street facility in Sheffield, Gripple Automation offers bespoke design and build of machines to improve manufacturing processes and significantly improve performance.

You will take the lead on the development of Mitsubishi operating systems, the design of graphical user interfaces and electrical system design from scratch. This hands-on role in the team that design, modifies and builds automated machinery involves working closely with production, engineering and customers. You may have to work at, and travel between, all three Sheffield manufacturing sites and visit customers, with occasional visits to our manufacturing sites overseas.

Who you are

The ideal candidate should have at least two years’ PLC & HMI programming experience, ideally with Mitsubishi Systems. Allen Bradley and/or Siemens experience also useful and electrical controls experience would be an advantage. To be selected for interview you must also:

• be proficient in PLC programming (including safety)
• confident in HMI programming, including motion control
• have experience of fault finding, testing and debugging
• be capable of commissioning machinery
• possess experience in robot automated handling/ system integration and programming
• have the ability to develop technical solutions to meet agreed project requirements
• be familiar with CE marking of equipment
• have the flexibility to provide technical support in and out of normal working hours
• be capable of report and documentation writing
• hold a full UK/EU driving licence, with the right to work permanently in the UK
