Working hours: 8.30am - 5.00pm, full-time, permanent

About The Company

Our client is a leading marketing analytics company based in Milton Keynes which prides itself on having customers such as Kia, Peugeot, Worldpay, Aston Martin, Goodwood Racing Circuit and many more and has been growing since its start in 2002. They are growing incredibly quickly and are looking for either a mid-level PHP programmer (2+ years experience), or Senior PHP Developer (4+ years experience), who is looking to advance their career as a Software Developer. They offer a perfect environment to make a real difference within the team and work on market leading software. Their software stack is LAMP with tools such as Composer, Beanstalk, NodeJS, Memcache and Redis.

The Role

This role will involve you building new systems for use by our customers and staff including developing new client requested features and improving current systems.

Day-to-day responsibilities would include three main areas, product development, bug fixing and technical support with the majority of the time being spent on product development and core roadmap projects.

For this role, you must be forward thinking, have an eye for detail and innovative as you will be driving their market leading product forward according to their customer’s needs. It’s a great opportunity to work on market leading technology.

Key Responsibilities

Software development on our core internal and external software products.

Supporting colleagues to develop top quality, well tested software.

Contribute to project plans to ensure completion of projects on time.

Involvement with future architecture and process planning within the team.

Provide technical support and training to other departments and customers.

Day-to-day support issues.

Essential Requirements

Between 2 - 4 years experience (depending on which role), commercial PHP development experience and a drive to move into a team leadership role.

Experience with front end development (Javascript, HTML and CSS).

Ability to hand code MySQL with an emphasis on performance.

The candidate must have a high attention to detail and a willingness to take ownership of development tasks.

Enthusiastic and willing to learn.

Ability to produce high quality, well tested code to specification with minimal guidance.

Able to review the work of others to ensure high standards are maintained.

Experience with version-control systems such as SVN.

Desirable Experience

An understanding of the software development life cycle.

Ability to project manage throughout the whole development life cycle.

Sysadmin experience and ability to maintain a Red Hat LAMP server.
