Job Title - Branch Manager up to £50,000 plus benefits
Location of offices- Alyesbury
Reports to CEO Hours of work - Currently 8 - 5.30pm Monday - Friday.
Purpose of Role
Our client a growing freight forwarding business is currently seeking a branch manager to join their team and to help expand its team. Your role will include Overall responsibility for the everyday operations of the Branch and their financial targets such as Branch Profit.
Responsibilities include managing Daily Operations, overseeing Customer Service, Sales activity, Staff Management & directing the daily business at this location.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities - Operational Responsible for overseeing all operational activity in the branch in relation to Air, Ocean and Land Freight. To ensure full compliance with the SOP’s and guidelines issued by the respective product/service. To develop strong relationships with the sister company including, sales, support functions and customer service to ensure branch targets are met. To deliver on both group and branch KPI’s. To develop short, mid and long term Strategic Plan for the Branch and ensure clear goals and activities are in place for all branch activities.
Customer Service - In conjunction with Sales develop the branch sales along with a customer service plan and ensure the retention and growth of existing and prospective customer base. To ensure all queries and complaints are investigated and responded to promptly, from both internal and external customers and suppliers. To regularly visit existing and potential customers as appropriate. Responsibility for the provision of excellent customer service ensuring customers are retained. To work with Sales at both a local and group level to gather data on customer satisfaction and develop and implement action plans accordingly.
People Management - Working with HR identify and recruit talented individuals that can demonstrate success and working style that are connected to our core values. To directly manage and lead staff and to ensure achievement of the required level of performance and customer service. To ensure that staff are set clear objectives and development plans for their performance enhancement and retention. To motivate staff and create a solid team spirit that drives the success of the branch. To develop effective and regular performance reviews, designing corrective actions where needed. To facilitate regular, effective and fun operational updates for all employees.
Person Specification Experience/ Knowledge Must have an in-depth knowledge of Multi-Modal Freight Forwarding Airfreight, Sea freight LCL, FCL & Break-Bulk, Road Freight. Significant people management experience within the freight-forwarding sector. Experience of leading and sustaining cultural change within teams.
