Charles Tyrwhitt (pronounced "Tirrit" by the way) is a leading British
menswear brand and multi-channel retailer. We're growing rapidly both in the UK and internationally; increasing sales year on year and setting and achieving ambitious targets. To sustain this growth and ever improve our outstanding service, we have an exciting part time opportunity for a Web Content Editor to join our e-commerce team.

The Role

The Web Content Editor is responsible for the build and maintenance of designed marketing pages, promotional banners and merchandising module, product sizing tables, store information and other content elements on our ecommerce website using HTML and CSS. You will be part of our busy ecommerce department, sitting in the user experience team. You will be involved in both day-to-day updates as well as longer-term project deliverables as required.

Main Responsibilities

You will work closely with our UX and Visual designers as well as our
Content, Promotion and Merchandising teams and will be responsible for both editing existing marketing pages using HTML/CSS as well as creating new pages/component layouts from the ground up based on provided designs. This is a technical "coding" role not a "writing" role.
  • Build responsive pages, promotional banners and other components
  • that scale appropriately across mobile, tablet and desktop devices
  • Up-to-date knowledge of HTML AND CSS with a deep understanding of
  • how to code efficiently to maximise page speed
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices in relation to how this fits
  • together with the HTML underneath
  • Collaboration with UX and visual designers
  • Collaboration with Content, Promotion and Merchandising stakeholders
What we're looking for

Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS is a must-have for this role.

We are looking for somebody with an interest and the ability to build
quality web content and create web-ready graphics using photoshop.
This will be a busy role in a high performing team and will suit somebody with both the ability to meet deadlines but also pay high attention to detail.

A working knowledge of Javascript, Demandware (Salesforce Commerce Cloud) and Tealium (Tag Management Solution) would be desirable but not essential.

Ideally you will be able to work 3+ days per week, but the business can be flexible with hours based on candidate's other commitments.

Please provide links to working examples of your work and be prepared to talk through your approach.

An HTML/CSS code test may be requested as part of your interview process.
