Contract type: Permanent
Hours per week: 35
Salary: Circa GBP 43,000 per annum (including ILW)

We have an exciting new opportunity for a motivated Multimedia Manager who will be responsible for managing and producing engaging digital content to tell the story of the British Red Cross on its social channels and website.

The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We mobilise human kindness to support people at the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

In the UK and overseas, our staff and volunteers respond to many of the defining issues of our time. These range from the health and social care needs of an aging population; domestic terror attacks and major fire incidents; the refugee crisis in Europe; right through to issues of protracted conflict and chronic hunger driving migration across the world.

Our reshaped Communications and Engagement Directorate is charged with giving voice to people in crisis. We are looking for outstanding advocates, communicators and creatives to join us and help take our engagement and influencing to the next level.

If you are a talented and committed media professional who can help us to inspire human kindness when crisis strikes, we would very much like to hear from you.

Join us and become part of our global humanitarian movement.

About the role
As Multimedia Manager is a senior production and content planning role in an exciting new team that works closely with PR, news, social media and website teams as well as marketing colleagues to create multimedia content for the website and social media channels.

About the person
With a working knowledge and significant experience of a newsroom or reactive media environment, candidates should have:

  • Knowledge of production technologies, publishing distribution platforms and channels.
  • Knowledge of rights and rights clearances processes.
  • The ability to repurpose content for appropriate channels.
  • Knowledge of and experience of ethical use of imagery in public facing media.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong partnerships and relationships across a large and complex organisation.
  • Significant experience of working as a multimedia journalist/producer either in-house, or for a production company or agency.
  • Experience and understanding of moving image production workflows, content management systems.
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills, including a range of styles and audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills for managing multiple stakeholders.

Closing date for applications is 23:59 on the 7th of September with interviews to follow.
