The Company:

A successful clothing retailer is looking for an Assistant Retail Merchandiser to compliment the team. You will be working alongside the Merchandise Manager and Head of Retail. This is a great opportunity to join a fast growing business with excellent benefits including 30 days holiday and staff discount. This is a 10 month maternity contract. The ideal candidate will have 2 - 5 years experience in a similar role.

The Role:

  • Plan stock and seasonal product ranges in line with sales targets.
  • Create and maintain seasonal blanket orders.
  • Coordinate seasonal trading calendar.
  • Manage levels and distribution of stock.
  • Forecast and monitor weekly rates of sale.
  • Suggest profitable selling prices, set stock promotions and price reductions.
  • Monitor margins and profitability.
  • Create detailed seasonal store production plans.
  • Ensure the right stock is available and arrives in stores at the right time.
  • Set up and maintain line cards.
  • Ensure up to date store grading is available.
  • Prepare weekly trading data to agreed deadlines.
  • Action any changes to replenishment as a result of the weekly trade meeting.
  • Manage distribution of stock out to store provide a seasonal launch tracker to monitor arrival of stock into the DC with clear drop down into store dates.
  • Support the management of stock levels in store to agreed max/min.
  • Provide data to allow analysis of sales performance of ranges & promotions.
  • Long term report on findings with clear recommendations for improvement when necessary.
  • Other duties as required.
Skills Required:

  • MUST have experience in a similar role as a Retail Merchandiser.
  • Ideally have a relevant degree.
  • Be commercially aware and highly numerate.
  • Logical, analytical and able to use own initiative.
  • Must have strong IT skills especially in Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Be able to build great relationships and work with people at all levels of the business.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced office environment and cope with pressure.
