Our client, a large school in the borough of Camden is looking to fill a Learning Support Assistant job in a year 5 class to offer 1:1 support to a pupil with Asperger's Syndrome. You will have prior experience of supporting a child with Asperger's Syndrome and be an experienced, dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant.
The school itself is a large 2 form entry school based in Camden with a large and dedicated team of talented staff and so are looking for a friendly and outgoing Learning Support Assistant to become a valuable addition to their team.
The job itself will involve offering 1:1 support to a child with Asperger's Syndrome on a daily basis, ensuring that they are getting the emotional and academic support needed.
To be considered for this role it is vital that you have the following:
- Recent referenceable experience of working in a similar role, preferably in a primary school setting
- Experience of supporting a child with SEN on a 1:1 basis
- A firm understanding of the UK national curriculum and child safeguarding and protection procedures
- Extensive knowledge of SEN
- Fluent in English
