The Student Enquiry, Advice & Events Team, within the wider Student Life Directorate is tasked with enhancing the student experience by managing student enquiries, events and advice. The main focus of the team is the enhancement of the overall student experience while highlighting and promoting our services and the benefits of a diverse multi-cultural and multi-faceted university experience in the promotion of student engagement, retention and completion.

The Student Communications Assistant will perform a key role in this team by promoting key messages and activities from The GCU Student Experience 2020 Action Plan to the student population and to encourage ongoing student engagement with the plan. The post holder will also contribute to the development of a wider GCU student communications strategy which connects with the student body and utilises channels which promote student engagement.

The successful candidate will be experienced in using social media channels for engaging and growing audiences, as well as having experience of developing digital video content. They will have excellent and versatile writing skills, which show a strong sense of audience and purpose. They will also be a natural relationship builder and have excellent networking skills. The post holder will also hold experience of developing communication strategies. Finally they will have excellent organisational skills and experience of planning, prioritising and organising work on a daily, weekly or monthly basis ensuring the effective use of resources and delivering to tight deadlines.
