About the roles
We have a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team at our Sense Centre in Pinchbeck! Our available roles are 22.5 hours per week as a Team Leader or 18.25 hours per week as a Support Worker. The usual working hours for these roles are between 9am and 4.30pm.
As a Team Leader you will supervise team members as well as supporting people with a range of hearing and / or sight difficulties that may also have complex needs and learning disabilities. The Team leader will manage the day to day running of a responsive innovative and high quality service for people sensory impairments and complex needs. Special attention will be paid to the creation of a continuous learning environment that will seek to maximise the potential of each person.
As a Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Your patient support and encouragement will enable individuals develop valuable, life skills and experience a wide range of educational, recreational and leisure pursuits. You will support deafblind people to participate in a number of different activities offered at the resource centre and to access facilities in the local community. You will also provide varying levels of support with personal care tasks.
As our new Team Leader, you will have a proven track record of motivating others including carrying out supervision meetings. You will have experience of working with adults with disabilities, monitoring the care provided and identifying and resolving issues arising from the 'day to day' operation.
Experience is not required for the Support Worker role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives.
