Pension Fund Accountant
Fantastic opportunity for an Accountant to join a well established organisation in Glasgow City Centre. You will work as part of a team to provide a reliable and high standard of pension fund accounting services for a portfolio of clients of varying complexity, in compliance with current regulations. This is an excellent development opportunity for the successful candidate to become a subject matter expert and assist with the training of more junior staff as required. The main duties: To project manage the annual pension scheme accounts process from planning, preparation and peer review, through to audit and completion To efficiently prepare accurate accounting information for clients in compliance with regulations & in accordance with agreed SLAs, including carrying out work on complex schemes To build relationships with key clients, attending client meetings where required. The role also includes accountability for the checking and peer review of client deliverable work To prepare ad hoc financial information as requested, including special accounts projects such as NCAS, termination accounts, VAT returns etc) To complete all associated routine tasks, following agreed business procedural requirements, including accurate time recording, use of standard templates, peer review, e-filing & WIP reporting The main requirements: Completed AAT / ACCA qualification (or equivalent), or has relevant experience in a pension fund accountant role Previous experience of working in an accounting environment or financial services industry Strong technical accounting knowledge Computer literate Ability to work in a team Ability to work to tight deadlines My client offers a highly attractive package for this post.
