£27,133 - £35,837 depending on skills + experience

We are looking for a RTS Technical Support Technician to join our team in Portsmouth South of England. The RTS Technicians are part of the Technical Support Centre Portsmouth, that support the systems used by the SSE Networks Management Centre to monitor and control the SSE Electricity networks.

As an RTS Technical Support Technician, you will be responsible for the day to day maintenance and fault rectification of Real Time Systems equipment. You will support the RTS/Protection team with project work and participate in an emergency support rota if required.

To ensure you get the most from your role, we ask for you to hold some key skills and experience. You should have field experience working in one or more of the following; RTU’s, Telemetry Protocols, ADSL Communications, Teleprotection systems, analogue or Digital Radio Scanning and Automation schemes. An ONC in telecommunications, IT, electronics or a related subject is preferred; however, we welcome applications from individuals with equivalent experience and training. You should be an excellent communicator and be confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels with the ability to convey complex messages in an easy to understand manner.
