Within this team we facilitate over £50b of payment and collections each year which flow through our financial reporting. We provision customer, policy and transaction data supporting valuation, accounting and business MI.

The team lead on:

Bringing together and driving solutions for Finance Systems and Data Warehousing across the UK Businesses.Driving platform stability, integrity and security for their customers through robust operational discipline.Ensuring that platform change and engagement is simple, fast and cost effective by building world class engineering capability, enabling us to Defy Uncertainty for our customers at pace.Ensuring that the platforms remain highly competitive and cost optimised by driving simplification in all aspects, strong partnerships and a culture of innovation and agile working.Support Business Units with the implementation of the Aviva Data Strategy, supporting consolidation of data whilst enabling self-service.Key systems owned and managed by this area include Oracle eBusiness suite, Banking & Payment systems, Life and GI Data Warehouses as well as modelling systems like Prophet and ALGO.The Platform Exploitation Manager (PEM) is a core strategic leadership role located in close proximity to our key customers and is being established to drive and leverage the efficient and innovative usage of the Life Data & MI Platform (comprising ETL, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence) through combining Business Intelligence (BI) expertise with business/data knowledge and business partnering. The PEM should hold strong commercial knowledge and awareness of the BI industry and supporting tooling, with specific focus on Qlik and Business Objects offerings as well as possessing a thorough understanding of Life data and associated processes.

You will be responsible for the leadership/management of a team of technical experts, data experts and Global Service Providers (GSP’s).

You must be a self starter with significant drive; an excellent leader and influencer, able to easily build value adding, engaging, strong working relationships with our vast user base, and be passionate about the efficient and effective use of data and supporting tools.

This role is York based (alongside our core customers), with a team in Bristol – Mobility is therefore critical.

Role Purpose:

Management of a cross locational team (permanent team 8-12 FTE + GSP (5-20)) covering Business Intelligence, Data Consultancy (including a level of production support on complex data issues) and Business Partnering.Build and drive a team where data SME’s compliment BI specialists and we have a strong sustainable value adding proposition that we can offer our customer.Efficiently and effectively deliver BI change, being creative and flexible around user demands and requirements.Build a culture around continuous improvement and innovation allowing us to delivery exceptional data and analytical capability into business teams.Working closely with Platform colleagues to ensure end to end change is delivered effectively and releases are fully integrated into production in a controlled manner.Partnering with the business and promoting the Life Data & MI platform by providing the business with value adding data solutions and support around the estates data.Responsible for promoting the use of strategic platform technologies including the support of business self service and usage of the Life Data & MI platform.Lead and support on the BI strategy for the platform along side design team.Build ongoing team capabilities with strategic data toolsets, Qlik Sense, Informatica user offerings, and R +.Drive innovation around usage of analytical tooling and techniques.Overall accountability for BI development, business partnering, and resolution of complex platform data issues / incidents.Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

‘Can do’ attitude, great leader of people, self starter and influencer.Knowledge of life data and life processes.Strong commercial awareness of BI tooling and industry – specially Qlik & Business Objects (ideally having had historical hands on experience).Strong stakeholder management skills, ability to build strong working relationships (partnerships) with business teams.Experience of supporting projects, providing consultancy and managing BI development.Strong communication skills, and task management skills, with the ability to build a collaborative team environment.Good problem solving skills, people, process and data.Ability to influence and make key decisions.Excellent communication, both oral and written.Highly organised and self-motivated.Additional Information:
