Systems Accountant - Global Business - Birmingham - £35,000

This global company within the retail industry have a turnover in excess of £800 million. With a large network of branches located across the UK and a vast supply chain network, it makes the service provided to their customer base unrivalled. Constantly looking for ways to further improve their service, including their back office processes, this know brand are recruiting for a System Accounts Team Leader to identify, manage and resolve issues within their finance systems.

Your new role
You will be responsible for resolving system issues, performing reconciliations of key control accounts and lead the team ensuring the smooth integration between supporting systems and the general ledger on a regular basis. You will be the lead for system account processes improvements and complete monthly checks to ensure data integrity is maintained. You will be working very closely with the management accounts to make sure all data passed over is highly accurate.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this role you will be technically minded, with an in depth working knowledge of accounting processes and procedures.You will be a part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with excellent knowledge of transactional accounting and book keeping. You will have excellent systems accounting experience including maintaining parameters of tailored accounting systems such as the purchase ledgers, sales ledgers and general ledgers. You will have excellent excel skills that include pivot tables, V -Look Ups and Macros. You will have a passion for analysing large volumes of data and ideally have had some exposure to M3 or Cognos.
