Our client is an established business which due to expansion is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to work in the Finance Department.
Duties will be extremely varied covering:
Daily banking - inputting balances onto the cash book and ledger spreadsheets In excel.
Balancing receipt and payments off the computerised system.
Reconciling bank statements Running daily and monthly reports - Adding nominal journals.
Processing Carrier Invoices
Maintaining a variety of excel spreadsheets
Opening the mail
Provide support to team members Assist the Finance Manager in any other duties required
A recognised finance qualification preferred such as AAT who studying ACCA/AAT/CIMA
Experience of working within a finance department
Basic understanding of accounting processes and procedures Good level of competence in Excel, Word and Outlook and computerised accounting software
Attention to details
Good keyboard skills
Honesty and discretion Ability to follow instructions; to meet targets and deadlines set
Good communication and listening skills Able to respond effectively to changing priorities
Payroll – experience helpful but not essential.
Experience liaising with customers to request payments
