Reports to: Field Operations Manager Based at: Field basedStarting Salary: £20,000 plus bonus (OTE £32,000 uncapped)
Job Purpose: You will travel to the debtor’s property to make contact in order to obtain payment in full or an upfront payment and arrangement to be cleared within 3 months. If necessary, you will take control of goods or clamp vehicles.
  • Organising and routing up batches of work, prioritising where necessary
  • Visiting properties and confirming residency. If the debtor has absconded, following the ‘gone away’ process and taking details of current occupier
  • Meeting with debtors to collect a payment in full, otherwise setting a payment plan over a maximum of 3 months. Clamping vehicles and taking control of goods if appropriate
  • Achieving the company minimum collection targets
  • Ensuring the correct fees are charged in accordance with the law
  • Obtaining as much financial information from the debtor as possible e.g. their NI number, their employment details, the benefits they claim (if any)
  • Assessing vulnerable situations and liaising direct with the relevant Local Authority and our welfare team
  • Answering calls from debtors to arrange appointments, take payments over the phone etc.
  • Completing all paperwork accurately and within the set timescales
  • Managing any monies collected and following Company banking procedures
  • Dealing with any requests from the office promptly
  • Working away from home as and when necessary to the needs of the business
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience of working in a field based or customer service role
  • Previous experience in the security industry or law or parking enforcement role
  • Experience of working a target driven environment (desirable)
  • Previous experience in the debt collection industry (desirable)
  • Ability to work varied hours and willing to work additional hours to exceed performance expectations
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Clear CCJ search and basic CRB check
