Digital Project Manager - 6-month Contract - £neg

Responsible for leading and managing an existing large complex internal and customer-facing projects to budget, schedule and quality.

Leading the work of cross-functional physical and virtual teams, this role demands timely and effective communications with project sponsors, internal stakeholders, technical specialists and customers across multiple concurrent projects.

The Senior Project Manager will be highly organised, articulate, detail-orientated and commercially aware, and able to lead and delegate effectively. You are energetic, committed and enthusiastic, with the ability to prioritise and take ownership to get the job done well and on time. You will support, empower, motivate and inspire others to excel in their performance and achievements, and help them to make a positive contribution to the continuous improvement of project processes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working with stakeholders to understand the scope, operational requirements and impact of projects and creating plans to address these
  • Assigning work, delegating tasks, assign responsibilities, providing leadership, mentoring and support to the project team
  • Working closely with the project team and customers to ensure that commitments and deadlines are met
  • Managing risks, issues and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating where necessary
  • Regularly reviewing project scope, costs, performance and business benefits to keep the project on track
  • Communicating project progress and outcomes to the delivery team, the project sponsor, the project board, and the customer
  • Proactively managing the expectations of stakeholders, delivery teams and customers
  • Maintaining and controlling project documentation and systems during, and on completion of the project
  • Closing projects to enable revenue recognition, and to review lessons learned

  • Complex projects delivered to deadline, schedule, budget and deliverables
  • Positive engagement of all stakeholders as demonstrated by review meetings and feedback received

  • Skills / Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience of working in a fast-moving and dynamic project environment, ideally for a software development organisation
  • Experience of running complex IT projects involving multiple stakeholders in a complex environment
  • Extensive experience of working with a project management methodology such as PRINCE2 or PMI
  • Knowledge of project planning and management processes, tools and techniques
  • High-level of communication, facilitation, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience of commercial decision making, commercial awareness
  • Experience of working with MS Office – Project, Excel and Visio
  • Experience of using project management databases and systems
