AM Recruitment Ltd are recruiting for a large manufacturing company in Huddersfield who have an immediate requirement for one possibly two Mechanically biased Maintenance Engineers with a background in maintaining CNC Machine Tools, ideally metal cutting machines.

The successful candidate will be a part of the multi-functional Maintenance Department undertaking the mechanical repair and servicing of all manufacturing machine tools and equipment. A person with experience of carrying out 'Route Cause Analysis' would be preferential. The role requires a person who can work well within a team environment but also have the ability to work under their own initiative.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnosis and repair of mechanical faults on all equipment including complex CNC machinery.
• Scheduled maintenance and servicing of equipment to OEM standards.
• Manage preventative maintenance schedules using our Asset Management System (Maximo).
• Respond rapidly to emergency breakdown situations and create work completion reports using Maximo.
• Use problem solving tools to reduce downtime and suggest improvements using Root Cause Analysis techniques.
• Mentor/train apprentices and less experienced members of the department.
• Attend manufacturing improvement meetings and work cross functionally to resolve issues.
• Work to all relevant safety standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Apprenticeship training. NVQ – level 3 or equivalent.
Minimum City and Guilds level 3 in a mechanical discipline.
Preferred, Advanced Diploma or equivalent. (ONC,HNC)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Experience in a recognised engineering industrial trade (Mechanical engineering / Machine tool fitting).
A preferred minimum of 2 - 4 years post apprenticeship mechanical maintenance experience.
Previous experience repairing machine tools, preferably including CNC lathes, CNC machining centres, CNC grinders, gantry loaders/robotics and balancing machines.
A solid understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
Equipment installation and commissioning.

The successful candidate can expect to earn a good basic salary plus shift allowance, plus overtime paid at time and one half. They work a standard 35 hour week, over 5 days one week and 4 nights the next. Night shift pays a 30% shift allowance.
