Job Title: Telemetry Installation Engineer – Fixed term employment (Multiple roles based nationally)

Reporting To: Telemetry Project Leader

Location: Travel throughout the UK.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The nature of the job places great emphasis on initiative and self-confidence in dealing with customers and other Company employees.

*The purpose of this role is to be an instrumental part of the Telemetry team rolling out new technologies to the Selecta vending machine base.

*Installation of Telemetry units to new and existing machine estate.

*Ensuring data between the cloud and machine is accurate.

*Working out technical issues of connecting to a wide range of equipment

*Testing interaction with other payments units

*Requirement to travel into other branch areas for specific roll outs including overnight stay

*Weekend and overtime work might be required

Safety is paramount and so the engineer must always satisfy themselves that the work is within their capability and knowledge and must take all precautions to prevent harm to themselves and others, if there is any doubt they should seek advice from other members of the team.

In addition to these functions, employees may be required to carry out such other duties
as may reasonably be required
.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

·To carry out telemetry installations to machines within the specified timescale.

·To carry out connection diagnostic work as laid down by the Line Manager

·To train local teams to install and set up equipment as required.

·To assist in project roll out planning where requested

·To inform the Line Manager immediately in the likelihood of a technical issue effecting the roll out schedule

·To have IT skill set to work with web based applications

·To be capable of working with and training in the use of hand held technology.

·Travel to other areas as required, improving business output and assisting colleagues. This will involve overnight stays.

·Carry out upgrades and modifications to vending equipment to enable connection of telemetry units

Administration·To ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and submitted within the correct timescales.

Customer Relations & Communication·To maintain regular communication with the project team and local branch contacts.

·To maintain regular communication with Line Manager – advise of any deviation from
schedule.

·To wear, and keep in good condition, the Company uniform, H&S footwear /equipment and ID badge in order to present a professional image

·To report to the Line Manager any activities relevant to the Company business and to
participate in promoting the Company’s business.

·Liaise with Operational colleagues as required in order to maximise customer benefits

Spares & Toolkit·To maintain correct spares and stock level as laid down by the Company

·To requisition all necessary parts to require to carry installations maintain the correct stock level

·To inform the Line Manager of any part outstanding for more than the agreed period of time.

·To maintain tools and equipment in good safe working order as per Toolkit Checklist provided

·To requisition any replacement tools as necessary and as authorised by the Line Manager

·To return Toolkit immediately to the Line Manager upon termination of employment

Company Vehicle and equipment·To ensure the vehicle is maintained to meet current legal requirements and kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times (refer to Company Vehicle Operating Manual).

·Any damage to the vehicle must be reported immediately to the Line Manager

·To ensure due care and attention is given to the safe-keeping and security of Company mobile phones and hand-held equipment.

·To use and care for the Company issued IT equipment in full accordance with
management instructions

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Appearance: Smart/Professional appearance

Disposition: Conscientious, co-operative and self-motivated. Ability and willingness to work on own but as part of a team

Qualifications: English and Maths at GCSE

Experience: Sound electro/mechanical knowledge. IT based experience.

Intelligence: To successfully complete standard Practical/Theory test

Honesty: Appointment subject to completion of a 13 week probationary period and minimum of 2 satisfactory references

Driving Licence: Full
