Role: Area Sales Engineer

Salary: £35000 - £42000PA

Location: Area to be covered - South East/Central

Working hours: 38PW

Our client is highly respected in there industry for quality service and reliability with there product. They now seek a talented Area Sales Engineer to complement the business Development team. Your background could well be from power generation, Electrical controls, capital machinery or Robotics and you must be knowledgeable in health & Safety.

As an Area Sales Engineer your role involves dealing with new and existing clients and maximising on sales through effective knowledge of electrical control systems, from initial introduction to closing the deal and overseeing the project to the end with the help of the support team. Giving a full and excellent service throughout the process is a must and you should be passionate about this.

This is an area role covering the south east central region of the country and required travelling to customer sites, stop outs in hotels and occasional travel overseas. This requires communication with the clients, reviewing budgets with your line manager,

The role is ideal for an experienced field-based sales engineer.

Key Skills for Position

· Time served electrical engineer

· Good base of electrical knowledge in general aspects of machinery / automation.

· Experience within B2B manufacturing or distribution environment

· Experience of different industry sectors

· Closure of sales opportunities into orders

· Diary management

Preferential Skills

· Health and Safety awareness with regards to machinery

· Previous experience / use of machinery safety products

Key Accountabilities and Duties

· To achieve or exceed annual sales in accordance with budgets agreed with Products BDM

· To develop new business in a defined sales area

· To manage defined distributors and other sales partners in a defined sales area

· To manage and report competitor activity

· To provide a consistent and accessible point of contact for customers

· To maintain and record sales related details and activities on a daily basis in CRM package

· To maintain a high level of product knowledge, attending training days at the office and occasionally overseas

· To deal with all correspondence as required / directed

· To plan a sales budget each year with sales manager

General Duties

· To attend regular team meetings and other corporate meetings as required

· To maintain effective working relationships with all other members of staff, particularly the UK Sales and Marketing Team

· To have competent computer skills including the use of email, Microsoft Office etc.

· To attend exhibitions, seminars and other corporate events as required

· To participate as required in corporate and personal improvement programs (e.g. training and competence development)

· To undertake any other duties as required

· To ensure that all duties are carried out in line with the Company's Health and Safety Policy as well as any other Company requirements

· To plan a sales budget each year with sales manager
