M+E Design Coordinator - Residential Developer

My Client established themselves within the Residential Development Market 25 years ago Producing a £1.5 billion portfolio of over 5,900 homes, hotels, retail premises and commercial properties. Our Client is a property development, hospitality and management group overseeing mixed-use, residential, hotel and commercial projects across London and southern England.

Their current portfolio of projects under construction both in the UK and overseas has a combined contract value of more than £750 million, with the Groups aim and vision are Client continues to grow and over the past 10 years they’ve successfully delivered projects in excess of £1 billion.

About the Role

The M&E Design Coordinator is responsible delivering the M&E aspects of projects in conjunction with the M&E Team and the Building Construction Teams. This work includes monitoring the M&E Client brief, review of sub-contractor tender packs, design co-ordination, managing the design issues on projects up to completion and handover and resolution of any problems post-handover. The M&E Design Coordinator reports to the M&E Design Manager on project performance and resourcing.

·Liaise with the Construction Head of Design Coordination

·Liaise with the Construction Design Coordinators and Assistant Construction Design Coordinators and assist them on their portfolio of Construction Projects.

·Liaise with the M&E Building Services Project Managers on Projects

·Liaise with theMechanical & Electrical Project Managers on Projects

·Liaise with the Construction Design Coordinators and advise them on their portfolio of Construction Projects.

·Liaise with the M&E Consultant design teams to deliver the tender and construction drawings in line with the Procurement and Construction programs.

·Assist in Monitoring the receipt of design information

·Work actively with the Document Controllers, check that the M&E drawings and specifications received from the Design team; consultants and subcontractors are maintained in the records and are up-to-date.

·Be actively involved in the detailed review and analysis of the information received and the coordination of that information

·Ensure that the Document Controllers update the ‘I’ data storage drive with the latest received and issued information.

·Assist in ensuring that M&E Subcontractors and consultants are issued with the information drawings and packages.

·Assist in ensuring that the Utilities Team are issued with the right and updated information and provide them with the relevant loads to make the utilities applications in line with this information.

·Assist in ensuring that the construction team is aware of the latest received information.

·Attend/ convene M&E Design Team meetings to track progress ensure the information required by site is delivered.

·Attend/ convene preconstruction M&E design work shops with Design Team and with Sub contractors (on D&B packages) to ensure that the design team is issued with GHL Design Brief and Instructions.

·Assist in commenting on the main site Tender Event Schedule and monitor design and sub-contractor appointments in line with that.

·Assist with Technical review of returned contractor tenders.

·Attend workshops with the site team as necessary to resolve missing or non-coordinated information.

·Track issue of M&E O&M’s and Handover Documents, ensure record documents are received and filed for the administration staff to issue at handover of the buildings.

·Foster a strong team culture and open and transparent communication within the project team and throughout the business

·Ensure M&E Quality Standards are met

·Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements as part of the M&E QMS project.

·Maintain your industry Continuous Professional Development standards.

Essential

·5 years’ experience working in a M&E consultancy environment with an Electrical Bias

·Relevant Qualifications i.e. BTEC/ONC/HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering

·Ability to define and implement M&E Management depending on the circumstances and requirements

·Experience of working on complex M&E design projects.

·Design knowledge of varied M&E construction techniques and their implementation.

·Design knowledge of HVAC and PHE services

·Design knowledge of Electrical Services
