Senior Sister/Charge Nurse In Patient Unit
This is a post which will give an innovative and inspirational leader who is looking to extend their experience the opportunity to work within an established team to create a culture of learning, service development and evidence based practice.
Following our inspection in 2016, St Leonards Hospice was rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission in recognition of the exceptional care provided for patients and their families. In recent years we have expanded our services to develop our community services within Hospice@Home, the Sunflower Centre and a Care Home Education Project. We are now seeking to develop our In-Patient Services to extend our care to more patients and families by joining all areas of the Hospice to create a seamless journey.
You must be a registered nurse with extensive post registration experience at a senior level; Palliative or End of Life Care experience is essential, however your outstanding feature must be that you are a dynamic, highly motivated individual who can work as a clinical expert to make a difference both personally and professionally to patients who require palliative and end of life care and their families/carers.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven track record of managing and leading staff and delivering change through service development and evidence based practice. Evidence of developing and delivering education and support for staff both in group and 1:1 situations is essential. The ability to demonstrate effectiveness through audit and presentation is essential and you must be able to communicate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including patients, families, commissioners and community partners.
Working closely with the Director of Clinical Services and Matron you will be joining us at a very exciting time as we build on the foundations of previous nursing leadership and develop services that are outstanding in relation to responsiveness, care, safety and effectiveness. You will be pivotal to shaping future service provision and identifying staff resource and training requirements.
Basic IT skills are essential, however on-going training can also be provided.
Could you make a real difference to patients and their families by joining the St Leonards Hospice?
