Job Description:GLD is looking for a capable and experienced content strategist to join its multidisciplinary digital team who are responsible for the delivery of digital products in the department. The content on our online portal is produced by our lawyers, experts in the legal affairs of Government and specialists in areas of law ranging from commercial law to international humanitarian law. We are looking for someone to play a central role in ensuring that the content that our lawyers write meets user needs. Delivering our award-winning services via an online portal is a very new innovation for us. We are therefore looking for someone who can very quickly get up to speed with the legal content we are working with, and then contribute creative and considered ideas about how we can develop and craft content to serve our clients across government.
The post holder will be responsible for identifying and matching user needs to appropriate digital content formats, and creating, monitoring and improving content and style to support design and delivery of simple, clear digital services (information and transactions). Developing digital content to help citizens, businesses and specialists with engagement and transactions.
Key Tasks & Deliverables:The successful applicant will need to: • Develop and improve governance, processes and workflows to support the delivery of content on our client facing information website. • Shape and structure the architecture of the content on the website. • Ensure content is user-focused and consistently meets publishing standards. • Review, edit and publish content to strict deadlines. • Provide analysis to inform the development of our content management system. • Work with specialist colleagues to co-ordinate digital content production. • Provide expert advice to staff across the department on the development of content based on user-centered design principles. • Develop excellent working relationships across the department.
Experience Required:• Editing content for the web, with proven ability to produce content that is accessible and usable. • Producing content based on user needs. • Managing relationships with stakeholders. • Working with content publishing systems. • Developing a style guide to produce consistent content. • Using your negotiating and influencing skills to get results. • Working flexibly with team members of an agile team to deliver shared goals to tight deadlines. Previous experience of working in government is desirable, but not essential. You will be expected to demonstrate substantial editorial experience and excellent writing skills.
The lower pay rate advertised in this job description is the highest daily PAYE pay rate that the client is willing to pay up to. The higher pay rate advertised in this job description is the highest daily Umbrella Company pay rate that the client is willing to pay up to.
