Senior Leasehold Finance Officer

Our Leasehold & Right to Buy Services (LRTBS) is changing to enable the team to fully meet evolving customer needs including with regards to the delivery of 1800 new leasehold homes across the borough. These homes include shared ownership, shared equity and new build private leasehold sales.

We are looking for a well organised, senior officers with sound financial and analytical skills, to ensure the accurate and timely billing of charges including service charges, major works, reserve fund and shared ownership rent whilst increasing customer satisfaction and providing robust financial and budgetary assistance to the team.
With housing in London under extreme pressure, maximising our income is an important way of improving services. We need people with a good eye for detail who can demonstrate they will achieve performance targets while working accurately and effectively. As one of two senior officers responsible a range of financial tasks you will be responsible for calculating service charges, major works and rents. Managing one finance technician, you will also review and maintain other financial administration for the service. You will also be a first point of contact between the team and other Council departments, auditors and other external bodies.
On a day to day basis you will perform accurate calculations that comply with financial regulations as well as updating the way we do things alongside any changes in legislation. You will help drive our standards up through benchmarking and monitoring performance. With an in-depth understanding of leasehold services and financial management experience, you will drive forward service improvements and our customer focus.
You should have accountancy or finance background, ideally with experience of working in a leasehold environment. You will need in-depth knowledge of relevant housing legislation along with a working knowledge of financial monitoring, reconciliation processes and budget monitoring.
We need someone with a proven track record of implementing excellent customer service practices. Someone with excellent financial skills, able to improve efficiency and minimise errors. To thrive in this role you will need a flexible approach and be able to work well under pressure.
