Teaching Assistants required in Richmond/TwickenhamProtocol Education are seeking teaching assistants to work a special needs school in the Richmond/Twickenham area for the rest of the academic year. The school are offering a one-year placement until July 2018 to which they will give the option to extend the placement further depending on performance. The school has various sites throughout the borough but are looking for staff to join their primary department. The school strives to meet the diverse and individual needs of its pupils who have special education needs and disabilities. Students with special needs travel from all over London to attend this school as it is one of the biggest in London which provide education for those with autism and complex needs . This is a large school for students aged between 4 19; due to this the school like to encourage independence and life skills within the learning. Prior experience working with students with special educational needs is desirable however it is not essential as the school pride themselves on having good training and development programmes. You will need to demonstrate an enthusiastic and caring attitude to work as you will be required to work in small groups or 1-1 with students.
