St Catharine’s College

IT Support Assistant

Part-time, 20 hours per week

22,000 – 24,000 per annum, pro rata

In this position, you will work alongside two Managers to assist with the maintenance and upgrading of the Colleges IT Infrastructure. A large part of your work will involve supporting students, staff, fellows, and guests so strong IT skills and the ability to communicate well with users at all levels are essential. An ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently, is particularly important.

You will also be the first line support contact for all general and technical IT and AV enquiries, which includes troubleshooting, installing hardware/software and configuring new computer devices. The setting up of AV equipment is paramount as we have many functions and conferences, along with the daily checking of student computer and server rooms.

The working hours are part-time and we do require a degree of flexible working, as evening and weekend events will be a crucial element of the role. Annual leave is 25 days per annum, plus public holidays. Lunch is provided each day in Hall and there is a defined contribution pension scheme with other College benefits.

St Catharine’s College is situated in the heart of Cambridge. The College is led by the Master, Professor Sir Mark Welland, and has some 60 Fellows, 430 undergraduates and 200 graduate students. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to join a small computing team.

For an application pack, please contact Sue Camps, Bursar’s Assistant, St Catharine’s College, Cambridge CB2 1RL, or click the Apply button.

To apply, please complete the College Application form and submit with a covering letter. CV’s may also be sent in, but will not be considered in isolation. The College Application form, covering letter and CV’s should all be sent electronically to Sue Camps at the above address.
