AEM QA Engineer

The core purpose of this role is to test AEM based application within the Application Shared Services team under Group IT. The QA Engineer role is expected to work with business, stakeholders, outsource suppliers, software vendors, industry peers and other 3rd parties to ensure the quality of the AEM application on behalf to Group IT, seeking to continually increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the test process.

You will:

  • To define the approach to test the AEM Web application
  • To work with the AEM Development team, Applications Test Service Manager, Test Quality Managers, Application Service Managers and Development Service Managers ensuring the quality of the software under test
  • To produce test plans/test scripts for manual testing and automation testing
  • Defect management
  • Collaborate with 3rd party offshore development and test team to deliver quality
  • Support the business users in UAT planning, prep and execution
  • Identify the test environment requirements and work with the project manager to get the correct test environments
  • Identify the test data requirements and work with business and other system owners to get the test data in time for testing
  • Integration testing of legacy systems by working with the 3rd party system testers
  • Contributes to the growth of AEM best practice within Dixons Carphone Group (DCG)
  • Taking lead from test perspective as and when needed in response to the steer provided by the Test Service Manager

You will need:

  • Testing experience in applications built using the technologies such as AEM 6.0/6.2/6.3, UI/UX JCR repository, Search & Promote, Target, Analytics, DAM and Hybris
  • In depth knowledge of and experience using toolsets such as Jira, Confluence, Zephyr, Jenkins and Bamboo
  • In depth knowledge on web and mobile testing tools such as Selenium, Perfecto/Sauce Labs
  • Good industry experience of testing in web application environment/e-commerce and content management systems
  • Experience in Agile and waterfall delivery methodology
  • Test experience covering all areas of the testing life cycle from requirements gathering to post go live support
  • Experience in both manual testing and automation
  • Experience in various test types including functional, integration, regression and non-functional testing
  • In depth knowledge of Defect Management processes
  • Understanding of SDLC and principles such as Release, Config and Change Management
