Our scrum teams work across multiple Web & Mobile applications on a range of products such as home, motor and travel and breakdown insurance, pensions, retirement planning, protection and health. We have created the award winning customer portal; MyAviva which allows our customers to access and maintain their Aviva policies. We develop all of our mobile apps in-house too including Aviva Drive, previous winner of ‘Insurance Innovation of the Year’. Did we mention that we were also awarded Digital Insurance Company of the year at the Data, Analytics & Technology Awards for Insurance.

Within Aviva Digital we approach software delivery with an Agile mind-set, focused on delivering small, value-driven enhancements often. We achieve that with our scrum teams that include Scrum Masters, Developers, Testers, BA’s, Solution Designers and DevOps Engineers to create brand new experiences, small changes to existing products as well as investing in maintaining our existing products to improve code quality against our core development principles.

We are currently looking for smart and motivated Software Engineers to come and join our delivery teams;

You’ll be responsible for:

Performing development, delivery and analysis of high quality web applications using Web development technologies including C# MVC, HTML5 and JavascriptBecoming a valued member of one of our scrum teams focused on delivering features and improvements Aviva’s existing and future productsContributing to the development of solutions that meet the strategic requirements of our businessIdentifying improvement opportunities such as enhancements to standards or technical innovations to increase the quality and efficiency of deliveryProviding technical expertise and collaborating in teams operating across the UK, India and PolandYou’ll achieve this by:

Working with scrum team members and the ScrumMaster and Product Owner to deliver focused, value driven changes to a high quality standardBringing your technical expertise to a group of like minded developers with the aim to develop the best solutions for our customers.Fostering team spirit and collaboration within your teamEngaging and contributing to the technical capability of our products to ensure they are the best fit for our customersWe’re particularly interested in (Essential):

Experienced and confident developers who want to develop great products, on a large scaleBringing people on board who are able to demonstrate commercial experience in TDD (Test Driven Development) and building Web Applications using C# MVC frameworkPeople with an agile way of thinking and a proven track record of developing and delivering great stuff on a frequent basisDevelopers that aren’t afraid to fail whilst also wanting to celebrate successWith some commercial experience of (Desirable):

Modern software engineering practices, Behaviour Driven Development, Continuous Integration (Jenkins, Maven), Code Analysis software (Sonar).Responsive design for mobile and tablet devices.Source Code Management (GIT, Stash)Web services experience (XML, REST, SOAP)Additional Information
