This follows the opening of a brand new £3.5m dispensing hub in Leeds – the first of its kind in the UK. This role will be dedicated to the brand which is the UK's largest NHS contracted pharmacy.

As a Database Administrator your main purpose will be to optimise and maintain database performance and actively monitor production databases.

Working for a market leading organisation you will be the technical authority on all technologies that provide data to applications, end-users, third parties, integration and middleware services. In this role as DBA you will be responsible for the design, configuration, availability, integrity and security of all databases and data sources. With a natural ability to identify, assess, prioritise and deliver improvements to the environments you are responsible for, you will proactively manage technology and processes to deliver high-quality architecture you can be proud of.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure all data and database platforms are highly availableBe the technical authority on data and database designs- turning requirements into logical data layouts for new data sources and ensuring databases are implemented and maintained well.Proactively manage and maintain security standards and controlsEnsure all data sources are secure and access is controlled, reviewed and auditableSupport BI developers, application experts and middleware developers in their efforts to integrate and report on data in an accurate and reliable manner.Configure, maintain and get maximum value from proactive monitoring and analysis toolsRespond to support escalations from DevOp’s and technical colleagues, providing specific expertise for troubleshooting as-required.Work with third parties for new installations, upgrades, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and general advice and guidance as required to ensure all delivered services meet requirements.Contribute to the creation and maintenance of backup, proactive maintenance and disaster recovery plans.Build strong relationships in the business to understand business objectives, specific data requirements and how the data you maintain adds value to the business.Skills Required:

SQL Server ideally 08R2, 12 and 16Strong technical skills in MSBI technologies (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)Strong operations experience in troubleshooting, configuration and performance managementDetailed technical knowledge of SQL technologies and processes for the maintenance and monitoring of databases and SQL Server.Experience of performance tuning and optimizing, T-SQL, Stored procedures and indexing.Excellent communication skillsDesirable:
