The Role
We are looking for a Fundraising and Communications (Fundcomm) Compliance Officer who will assist us in ensuring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) coming into effect May 2018. This role is vital, enabling us to continue to fund projects to reach over 2 million working horses, donkeys and mules across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

This role will see you report to the Fundcomm Compliance Manager and you will work collegiately with the Fundcomm team to ensure that we are compliant with fundraising legislation and regulatory frameworks. This will enable us to continue to deliver compliant, effective, high-quality fundraising that always puts our supporters at the heart of what we do. You will be required to traffic projects to completion with a range of stakeholders, ensuring that the day-to-day delivery and monitoring of the fundraising codes, legislation and regulation are on track and that Fundcomm teams are equipped to meet their deadlines as part of the GDPR readiness project.

With a high level of organisation and excellent project management skills, you will have an awareness of data protection, legal and regulatory frameworks in a fundraising context. You will also have excellent communication skills, as you will communicate technical, legal and regulatory information to staff with varying levels of understanding in an engaging manner. You will be expected to manage your time and tasks effectively, traffic work from other teams, keep up-to-date with changes in fundraising regulation, and have the skills to communicate to others in a relevant manner.
