UPS Field Service Engineer - UK Wide (Mainly London) - Permanent - up to £35K + Overtime + Van, Phone & Fuel Card

My client is a leading manufacturer of Medical Lighting Equipment used in Hospitals across the UK.

They are seeking to hire a UPS Field Service Engineer who will travel to customer sites across the UK and be responsible for Installation, Service, Repair and Maintenance of Medical Lighting Equipment.

The role will be mainly focused on the London area although regular travel to other UK Sites can be expected.

Candidates must show a willingness to develop and progress within the department, have excellent practical skills and be competent in Electrical / Mechanical disciplines. To carry out installation and maintenance of equipment in accordance with company and installation procedures, whilst seeking to optimise use of time and minimise associated costs.

You will be tasked to complete and submit all relevant documentation / electronic forms accurately and within agreed timescales. A high level of attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely and in a timely manner are also preferred.

It will be essential to represent the Company in a professional manner, develop a good working relationship with the Service desk and Clients.

Job Duties:

-Working on electrical systems, UPS battery systems and static UPS
-Installation, commissioning and reactive maintenance of UPS/IPS systems
-Repairing or replacing wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
-Fault finding and resolving problems in a timely manner
-Installation and inspecting control panels
-Responding to regular planned visits, completing PPM tasks and ad hoc minor repairs
-Electrical repairs arising from periodic inspection and testing
-Carry out remedial works, minor alterations and installations
-To maintain and manage stock levels within their vehicle and office storage location.
-The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces

Required experience:

-Electrically qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds 2/3, with field service engineering experience
-Experience of single & three phase systems
-Clear understanding of safe working practices on site with relevance to high voltage AC and DC equipment
-Experience of Medical Theatre environment would be advantageous but not essential

This role will require a willingness to travel across the UK.

A Van, phone and fuel card is provided as are hotels and sustenance expenses when required.
