Job Description

Intequal, in partnership with the Microsoft Apprenticeship Programme, are offering this exciting opportunity to embark on a career as an IT Hardware Technician Apprentice.

Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, you will receive Microsoft training and accreditation through online learning and practical experience. These qualifications are highly respected and sought after and the skills, knowledge and experience you will gain whilst on the programme are invaluable, giving you the best possible chance at starting your professional career in the industry.

Job Role

The company require a proactive IT Technician with an aptitude for communication and interest in Microsoft infrastructure technologies such as Windows.

Quickly assimilating new technologies, being able to apply what is learnt and showing a genuine enthusiasm for the technology are critical to this position’s success.

This role will initially be involved in working as part of a small office based team to support primary schools with setting up, maintaining and repairing hardware. You may be required to work on 1st line support as well as attending site for installs and working alongside senior technicians.

Key responsibilitieswill include supporting the team to assist with technical problems, fixing computers and issues on site and in the company’s workshop, working with team members to meet deadlines, using initiative to learn and being up to date with the latest technologies.

To be considered for this role, you must have at least a C grade in both GCSE Maths & English, and in three or four other subjects at least. You should have a GCSE/BTEC/A Level in ICT or at least hands-on experience with the workings of computers and IT.

You will be highly organised, have excellent communication skills and a brilliant telephone manner.

You will be willing to work hard and eager to learn.

You will be able to work individually and within a team.

You will have a natural affinity for technology and a logical approach to troubleshooting/problem solving.

It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of different types of hardware and computer components and have experience of working with/building computers.

The company require someone who drives.

An interest in IT is mandatory!

Training Provided

You will be enrolled on to the award-winning Microsoft Partner Apprenticeship Programme. You will work towards gaining skills across a variety of technical areas including Cloud Technologies and Network Fundamentals. This will extend also business processes and project management. You will also have the opportunity to gain some globally recognised Microsoft certifications.

Working HoursMonday to Friday, 9am-5pm (37.5 hours per week)

Wage £4.30 per hour, £161.25 per week

Duration 14 months
