Design Engineer with excellent Creo CAD skills required for long term contract role with prestigious engine development Company.
Our Client is a major developer of diesel engines for commercial and industrial applications around the world.
To support the ongoing development of their class leading engines, they seek to engage an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer.
Design Engineer role:
You will need excellent Creo CAD skills, preferably including the use of surface design techniques, castings design and other mechanical component design experience.
You will ideally come from a similar engine or transmission design background or other machinery design sectors.
Design Engineer Summary:
Provide design assistance for engineering assignments including products, parts, components, or portions of major projects.
Skills and Competencies:
Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
Team player and detail oriented.
Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Sketch outline designs and use computer-aided design for detailed design, generating parts lists and specifications.
Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas.
Consult with the marketing department about upgrading the product, failures in service and reducing the cost.
Consult with the development engineers about new products and the application of novel technology.
Consider various factors of engineering drawings or diagrams, including use of the product, its environment, materials, economics of production, safety, legal requirements, quality, production requirements, cost and ease of maintenance.
University degree in engineering, or equivalent, required, plus proven design experience required
Standard Working Hours - 40hrs per week - Monday - Friday
Department has flexi time starting 7am to 6pm, Core hours 9am - 3pm.
Additional hours can be expected.
