Our client, an established children's charity, requires an accountant to join them on a part-time basis working from their South London office for 3 days a week. The charity provides learning support to disadvantaged children at primary school level.Key responsibilities of the financial account post includes:- providing and developing a financial management function in keeping with the nature of a tightly run charity- to produce monthly, quarterly and year end accounts, regularly review and update financial systems to comply with charities and financial legislation- oversee preparations of books and accounts and ledgers, manage cash flow and ensure accurate preparation of charity financial and legal returns- reporting of income streams and budget forecastsKey Skills and experience needed includes:- minimum of five years' experience within a finance management function- relevant accountancy qualifications- experience of working within a UK based charity- experience of managing others- experience of reporting to board of trusteesThe role will be an initial six months contract (could potentially turn perm).Please apply with a cover letter explaining why you are suited for the role.
