Temporary HR & Training Officer

My client, based in Leatherhead, is looking for an HR & Training Officer for approximately 3 months on a temporary basis.

The main purpose of the role is to provide generalist HR and Training support to all areas of the business. The role encompasses the complete HR spectrum from recruitment, employee relations, staff policies & procedures, compensation and project work. To promote a high performance culture across the business by supporting and advising line managers in a proactive manner.


·To liaise with line managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of staff training and development, in order to implement and support the Training Plan

·To produce a matrix of training needs, where necessary, based on feedback from manager/appraisals

·To monitor, measure and report on staff training and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales where necessary

·To deliver internal training workshops to line managers as and when required

·To prepare monthly payroll paperwork and processes

·To process all changes to terms and conditions of employment as advised by line managers

·To process all appraisal documentation accurately and action any salary changes resulting from this

·To process new starters and leavers and carry out exit interviews where necessary

·To provide support and advice to assist line managers with the production of job descriptions, person specifications and during interviews if necessary

·Advise and support line managers with employee relations issues

·To provide effective and sound advice to line management in line with current employment legislation and in doing so, maintain up to date knowledge.

·Assist with the annual salary review process; prepare up to date salary data and spreadsheets and offer advice to line management where required

·Develop and update HR policies and procedures which adhere to current employment legislation, best practice and operational effectiveness

·Participate in HR projects where required in conjunction with the Head of HR

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in an HR team and in providing HR services to 250+ employees, to cover the full employee cycle, in a multi-site organisation. You will also possess sound, up to date knowledge of employment legislation, strong coaching skills and be ableto operate in a fast changing environment. You must also be able to write clear, concise reports and policies across a broad range of HR issues and have the Ability to analyse management information to produce reports.
