Academic Mentor - Maths Graduate (Secondary School)

You will be a graduate of Maths with a good academic background and at least received a 2:1 in your degree. You be a patient person ideally suited to be a teaching assistant, assigned specifically to the Maths department. As an ambitious Maths Academic Mentor you must be able to empathise with their students and will be an enthusiastic addition to the school environment. You must also have a passion for education and a desire to pass on your extensive knowledge of Maths to the next generation.

In this role of a Maths Academic Mentor you will be part of the teaching team and will focus primarily on Year 11 pupils at the critical C/D borderline who need more attention to help them reach where they need to be for their GCSE preparation. This school has sufficient experience in supporting graduates in their first school based role and therefore provide some training before you arrive and further training will continue during your time at the school. You will be assigned a mentor in the form of a recently qualified teacher who will be able to aid you in your development.
