Teaching Assistant needed in Cheltenham for 1:1 Support with a pupil.

a motivated and ambitious secondary school in Cheltenham is looking for a dedicated and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Communication and Language difficulties.

Your new job

As a Teaching Assistant within a SEN school your job will be to support a pupil with Communication and Language difficulties. The successful candidate will be working closely with this pupils on a long term basis in order to maintain their development and act as their first point of support. You will follow the EHCP to support their development.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful you must have recent and relevant experience as an SEN teaching assistant, working with children with Communication and Language difficulties, either in a voluntary or paid capacity. You must also have a passion for working with Secondary school pupils and be dedicated to making a positive impact on their learning and development. You will have a Level 2 or higher qualification or alternatively extensive SEN experience supporting children in a phase who have emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) or exercise other complex and challenging behaviours. As per Department for Education (DfE) guidelines you will need to be able to provide full identification copies and reference details from the relevant experience you have previously gained in this or a similar setting.
