Due to ongoing growth and an extremely positive year, there is an immediate, Permanent requirement for a Packaging Engineer to join the successful operation in Cannock, Staffordshire.
Reporting to a Logistics Manager, this role will be responsible for monitoring levels & quality of packaging through data analysis & engagement, with customers, internal departments & suppliers. Organise trial activity on production lines in line with improvement activity plans. Gain trial approval via the GCPS trial authorisation process. Liaise with internal departments to plan organise the timing & methodology of trials. Support CAPEX projects, technical specifications and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities·Control and support GWM specific packaging requirement at all levels (BOP's, Internal and customer)·Monitor levels, targets to actuals, adjust systems accordingly and to action / progress variances when applicable·Update and maintain standards in line with packaging operations and ordering. Specifically to maintain SAP to enable efficient packaging controls·KPI, review and effective communication with customers and suppliers relevant to packaging systems / levels adherence on a regular basis·Be a key member of the NPI GPCS process with the responsibility for supporting / co-ordinating all GWM packaging planning and related activities·Responsible for Aftermarket / Export and Bank stock packaging (Disposable Packaging Stock Control and forecast)·Support the ordering process for customer packaging e.g. Magna Gratz
Skills and Experience·Experience of and proficient using SAP and Microsoft , Customer systems and maintenance of these·A good interdepartmental communicator that can solve issues systematically & objectively·Experience within a packaging control environment including Planning and inventory control·Technical diploma (packaging desirable)·Literate and numerate to GCSE / A Level
