Pursuits and Proposals Manager /Senior Manager - South East
About the team
Our Pursuit and Proposals team are sales specialists working across the UK, who support client teams from first engagement, through the proposal and pitch process, to closing the deal. As a pursuit and proposals manager or senior manager your focus will be on ensuring that the right strategy is put in place for the opportunity and helping teams execute the pursuit in the most efficient and effective way.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for a hungry, driven and engaging individual who is passionate about helping our teams navigate the pursuit cycle. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to be a part of a maturing proposals infrastructure in the Southeast and work alongside a range of stakeholders from all lines of service. The Southeast region includes seven offices and this role will focus on the south of the region, primarily covering Reading, Gatwick and Southampton. As such the role will suit someone who has good initiative, is willing to challenge the status quo and who brings ideas to build their network across the region.
What you’ll be doing
No two days and no two pursuits are the same. There’s lots of variety in the Southeast. You could be coaching a team through a FTSE 100 audit tender, introducing new technologies and ideas to our Private Equity team pursuits or working with global network firms on the region's large inbound clients. Regardless of the project you will be at the heart of some of the most important pursuits across the Firm.
You’ll be the point of contact for Reading, Southampton and Gatwick pursuits, and will therefore need to be flexible and will work alongside a team of Business Development managers and Office Senior Partners to build a proposal infrastructure that adapts to the changing nature of the region. You will be leaned on and turned to for support and advice for all stages of Pursuit and will be trusted to run and operate the territory in your own way. Relationships are key and managing and building on them across such a large territory will always be one of your biggest challenges.
Providing end-to-end support throughout a proposal life cycle, including proposal management and advice, presentation coaching and obtaining client feedback
Working with stakeholders across services lines and industries to align support to priority areas and drive proposal best practice in the region, whether that’s through training, reporting on key trends or other means.
Helping draft proposal documents and collateral, including cover letters, executive summaries, team and CV information, and firm experience
Reviewing and amending proposal document and collateral
Working alongside proposal drivers to help shape the pursuit plan and provide insight into best practice (i.e. colour reviews)
Responding promptly to proposals content queries and build networks of SMEs across the region and the Firm
Delivering tailored training modules and work closely with SMT and Office Senior Partners to understand where training may be required.
Conducting client feedback and post decision reviews
You’ll have excellent project management and coaching skills and an ability to think commercially and see the bigger picture. You’ll need to be able and confident to provide your views and challenge and support teams in a constructive manner and build on relationships across the region. You’ll need patience and to be flexible, to understand that with such a broad geography and group of stakeholders there is no one right way.
